¿How to point my web domain to the Waitry IP?
If you have your own domain and wish to use it for your website created in Waitry, we can provide you with our IP number so that you can carry out this configuration from your domain administrator.
Get in touch with our support team and we will provide you with our static IP number to complete this configuration.
You can point your main domain or a subdomain by editing the DNS on the platform where you delegated your domain. For example, you can point the subdomain '[enlace sospechoso eliminado]', or the subdomain '[enlace sospechoso eliminado]', or the full domain '[enlace sospechoso eliminado]', or all of them, depending on your preference. Generally, this is done by editing the DNS zones on the platform where it was delegated.
We will briefly explain how to point your domain or subdomain to an IP.
For this, you must create or edit an A record type, which are the DNS records that allow a domain or subdomain to be directed to a specific server using its IP address.
- You must select the configuration ⚙️ of the site where you will point your domain > DNS or DNS Management (This may vary depending on the site where you configure your domain).
- Select Add to add a new record or Edit if you already have a record.
- Select A from the Type menu options.
- Enter the details for your new A record:
Name: The name of the subdomain for the A record. Enter @ to place the A record on your root domain, or enter a subdomain prefix such as "www", or "web", or nothing if you are going to point the entire domain.
Value: The IP address provided by Waitry.
TTL: How long the server should store the information in the cache. The default setting is 1 hour. (This setting is optional)
Click Save.
Most DNS updates take effect within an hour, but global updates can take up to 48 hours.
Once the domain is pointed, you must inform the support team of the established domain or subdomain so that we can enable it on our server.
